Tiny bubbles

Brayden learned how to blow bubbles into his food while I feed him. Oh joy. And conveniently, he discovered this neat new trick while eating bright orange mangos. This picture from the momentous occasion teeters somewhere between absolutely hilarious and totally bizarre.

OK, a little explaining about the weird props in the picture. The spoon is easier so I’ll start there. Brayden will only eat when he has a spoon in his hand. I dip it into his food, and he “feeds” himself in between real bites.

The bulb syringe is a random item he decided he couldn’t live without on this particular day. There really isn’t any rhyme or reason to it. Brayden just wakes up, sets his sights on whatever random object tickles his fancy and that is the “must have” item of the day.

But back to the story. So I’m feeding him mangos, and Brayden blows into a spoonful of food. It splatters out a bit, and INSTANTLY Brayden gets this mischievous glimmer in his eyes and bursts out laughing. Of course, I couldn’t help myself and I started laughing too. Big mistake because this action was now seen as “funny.” I managed to get him back on track to eating but not until he, the tray and I (no pictures, sorry) were covered in mangos. Since I tend to only post pictures of Brayden smiling, looking cute and otherwise being adorable, I wanted to show you that my child does indeed get totally messy like every baby boy should.
